Mass transport provider chooses e-bilities® for large scale recruitment. In recruiting trainee drivers, a multinational transport company received over 2000 applications. Of this group, over 1000 people met the initial selection criteria, and the challenge for the consultants managing the recruitment process was to identify a much smaller group of suitable people to invite to their assessment centres. e-bilities® "at home" testing solution enabled the company to use ability testing as an early-stage screening tool to quickly and objectively identify their most promising candidates. The tests provided measures of key job-related factors such as learning ability and perceptual speed. - The applicants were emailed passwords to the test-taker area of e-bilities® and were instructed to complete the tests at their convenience by a specified date.
- While the applicants had a choice of when and where to complete the tests, the testing process itself was standardized via on-screen instructions, practice questions and accurate timing technology.
- At the close of the testing period, the test scores were ranked to identify a short-list of suitable applicants for progression to the next stage of the selection process.
Research has shown that applicants who scored highly on the e-bilities® tests taken "at-home" were more successful through the company's driver training courses.
